John W. Seaver, an engineer, designed and built this home for himself
in 1898.It is modeled after Thomas
Jefferson's home, Monticello, and was originally brick.The stucco was applied in 1911.Its neo-Classical character is reflected in
the Palladian front and portico, and in the beautiful staircase of the entry
rotunda.
